sorry the picture is so bad. -__- i had a good day today. i started off with the Boone Hospital Health fair (for extra credit in nutrition class) and was told my numbers were excellent. blood pressure was 110/70, cholesterol is 145 (a good number is less than 200), my LDL's(the bad cholesterol, Low-Density Lipoproteins) werent accounted for, i have no idea why but my HDL's(the good cholesterol, High Density Lipoproteins) was 53 (a good number is greater than 60, but since i do not exercise my number is low), my triglycerides was less than 45 (a good number is less than 150) and my BMI is 25 so for my height (5'10) and weight (176) thats good. =) then i had some oatmeal for the first time in 10 years probably, and put some peaches, walnuts, cranberries, brown sugar, almonds and raisins in it and it was SOOO GOOD. i just realized how much i've been missing by not eating oatmeal with all the good stuff i had in it today.
so all the snow has melted away leaving a lot of water and mud around...my shoes are getting dirty and i'm not too happy about that. but the bright side of this is the good weather we're having! i need to buy some nice flats because i cant be outside in this good weather with only sneakers, let alone BOOTS. shaking.my.head.
so i had orientation at Granny's House, an after-school place in an urban neighborhood for kids to hang out, do homework, and/or play in a safe environment that teaches them about God and gives them the attention they need to basically stay out of trouble and grow up the RIGHT way. most of these kids are HIGH risk or AT risk for drug abuse, teen pregnancies, etc. i have to do service learning with this organization for my Black Studies course this semester and this was the closest one to me.
anyway......i got a relaxer on tuesday and since styling was included in the price, i figured i'd style it since i never do. at first i was skeptical of going to this lady because she's white and in Miami pretty much none of the white hair stylists do perms...at least, i dont know any. but she did very well in my opinion and i do plan on going to her when i need my next relaxer! i looked through a magazine and saw this curly mohawk type of thing (no i didnt shave any hair off, i just pinned the sides up and left whatever was hanging out curly)
and i liked it. i couldnt get any good shots of the sides for the life of me so heres a shot from up top:and today i pinned EVERYTHING to the side so it looked like this:

=) im settling in nicely...
